EVENT MANAGER

We are looking for an Event Manager to join AOK Events (recently accredited as being A Great Place to Work) in a key role to help deliver a large number of events, including live events, virtual events, brand experiences, conferences, incentives, parties and corporate hospitality. The role very much includes sales support, helping us win business that we are pitching for.

AOK Events pride themselves on developing long-term successful relationships with our clients by excellent account management and project delivery. The Event Manager will take an active role in developing client relationships, with a view to managing their own accounts and projects.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 pm with an option to work flexibly. The Event Manager will be expected to work on events outside of these hours, occasionally on weekends and international travel may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Deliver excellent events for AOK Events’ clients at the very best standard
  • Build strong and long-standing relationships with clients as projects are planned and delivered
  • Excellent project delivery (logistics, production, communications and creative)
  • Create, support, deliver and present proposals to prospective clients
  • Event budget management
  • Accurate and timely reconciling of all projects, ensuring profit margin
  • Be a resource to all sales personnel at AOK Events to help them win business and upsell on events
  • Play a significant role in AOK Events achieving its yearly revenue target
  • Introduce existing AOK Events clients to the wider services offered by The AOK Events Group

Key competency skills:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the event industry
  • Team player - work as part of a team to collectively win business and deliver amazing events
  • Strong work ethic - this role will be extremely varied with day to day challenges
  • Good attention to detail - planning before each day is essential to be successful within this role
  • Experience of delivering events across the AOK Events Group portfolio is critical
  • Building relationships - it is essential to build relationships not only with clients but with AOK's key suppliers 
  • Proactive, not afraid to ask questions
  • Numerate & literate
  • An interest in marketing, whether it’s idea generation, design or other is preferable

VENUE FINDER / ACCOUNT MANAGER

We are looking for a venue finder who has a real passion for venue finding and account management. You will need to have good existing venue knowledge, established industry relationships and a proven track record of finding venues, which achieve our clients’ objectives. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven venue finder to join our happy, busy, award-winning event management company, based in Clapham Junction. We have been recently certified as A Great Place to Work. At AOK Events we offer corporate hospitality, live event services, venue finding and virtual events, amongst other services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Revenue generation for AOK Events through your expertise in finding venues/other event services
  • Negotiate the best commission deals
  • Great knowledge of venues in London, as well as the rest of the UK & Europe
  • You should have senior relationships with a number of the more popular event venues – knowing which venue to put forward against each brief is critical
  • Account management – using your relationship skills to delight existing AOK Events clients & help grow their accounts
  • Introduce the full range of AOK Events services to clients during and after the venue finding process
  • Review enquiries with your team as they come in. Qualify as necessary
  • Manage any key projects or accounts as they are allocated to you
  • General sales administration, including management of CRM system to ensure all data in the CRM
  • Proactive sales/account management approach
  • Target face to face client meetings and show rounds
  • Actively promote the other areas of AOK Events’ revenue generation: corporate hospitality, venue finding, bespoke events and live event services
  • Shared responsibility to ensure marketing collateral is up to date
  • Regularly attend FAM trips and industry networking events
  • Proactive research and have a genuine interest in new hotels, venues and incredible event spaces

KEY COMPETENCY SKILLS

  • Team player – work as part of a team to achieve goals of delighting every customer with a response to their brief
  • Strong work ethic – the role is varied with different challenges/opportunities each day
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Good numeracy also important
  • Good time management skills
  • A people person – good account management skills are critical
  • A university degree (preferred)
  • The motivation to become an integral part of an expanding business
  • Proactive but not afraid to ask questions
  • A real interest in venues and events generally. Finding the right venue for a client which they contract and are subsequently delighted with, is the main aim
